Hello, fellow cousins and relatives of Ward and Linda Stone,
It certainly is exciting to see our website up and running. Thanks to Katy for pulling it together. You have designed it very nicely and have given us lots of space for additions. We will be able to share photos of our families, stay caught up about the upcoming reunion, and review our family’s history. Yes, there will be a quiz – or, if not a quiz, there will be a game of trivial pursuit filled with questions about the Stones from Gregory to Andrew. Who will win the prize in July?
I see in the first posting that Carol and Bill will be bringing musical instruments to the reunion. Music has a long tradition in the family. I was talking to Aunt Mary just this evening and she mentioned the sing-alongs that they had while her mother played the piano and everyone sang the old songs like “The White Cliffs of Dover” and “Till I am With You Again.” As we sing along in July, will our “old songs” be from the 60’s or the 70’s?
Just a note about the genealogy that is here on the website: it was originally written by Edgar Stone from his research in the Boston historical records. Carol has painstakingly re-typed it for posting here on the website. Thank you for doing that, Carol.
Check back from time to time for more news, postings, and photos. And don’t hesitate to add your own anecdotes, news, and photos. We hope to devote space to each of Ward and Linda’s children and their families as we can gather photos.
All the best,
Jill Martel
